What are MX and TXT Records?
MX (Mail Exchange) records are DNS (Domain Name System) records vital for directing your domain's email traffic to the appropriate email server. They ensure that emails sent to your domain reach your inbox correctly. TXT (Text) records, on the other hand, are DNS records that provide text information to external sources. They are often used to verify domain ownership and implement email security measures like SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail), which help prevent email spoofing.
Adding Records to Your DNS Settings
After transferring or purchasing your domain through our platform, you can easily manage your DNS settings by adding, editing, or removing records. Please note that currently it's only possible to add MX and TXT records. Here’s how it works:
1. External Domain or Purchase: Start by pointing your existing domain or purchasing a new one through Voolt.
2. Get Your MX and TXT records: Once your domain is ready, you need to get the MX and TXT records with the source you want, such as email providers, etc.
3. Access your Dashboard: Once you have the information, access your Dashboard to add the records to your account. Click here or access https://app.voolt.com/dashboard/websites/domains/.
4. Email Setup: Scroll down do DNS Management and click + Add Record Manually. Past one record by one and pay attention if you are adding an MX or a TXT.
